Creating a Statement of Responsibilities
Creating a statement of responsibility from scratch

This guide is designed to help with creating a new Statement of Responsibility (SoR) for a brand new Senior Manager Rule. If the SoR you want to create is replacing a pre-existing Senior Manager, this will require a Handover in the system.

Creating the Statement of Responsibilities

Within the Senior Managers individual summary, click start on their Senior Manager role.

Once you have started the statement of responsibility, we can now start assigning responsibilities, committees and direct reports.

1. SMF - The Senior Manager Functions that the individual holds

2. Prescribed Responsibilities - The prescribed responsibility that the individual holds

3. Overall Responsibilities - Any Overall responsibilities that the individual holds, these are custom in the system, if you are unsure how to add custom overall responsibilities, click HERE to check out our responsibility guide.

4. Other Responsibilities - Any Other responsibilities that the individual holds, these are custom in the system, if you are unsure how to add custom overall responsibilities, click HERE to check out our responsibility guide.

5. Committees - The Committees the individual holds positions in. If you do not have any committees click HERE to check out our guide on creating committees.

6. Direct Reports - These are people that report into the individual. This will pull in to the MRM Diagram of Allocation

7. Supplementary Info - Any other information you want to include in the SoR

Adding functions and responsibilities

When you start to the statement of responsibility, you can assign the senior manager functions and prescribed responsibilities.

You can then choose the SMFs that apply to this individual from the list provided. This list will only show SMFs that apply to your firm type.

You can then also assign responsibilities to the individual, by selecting from the list of available responsibilities.

Note - If there is a responsibility greyed out this means that the responsibility is currently held by and individual in the system and therefore will require a handover to share/handover the responsibility.

We can also add committee positions to the SoR.

You can select from the list of committees to add to the SoR.

When you have added the Committees, you will need to add the positions that the individual holds on those committees.

We can add the individuals direct reports, these are individuals that report into this person you want to appear on the Management Responsibilities Map (MRM).

You can select any individual within the firm to add as a direct report.

The Solid & Dotted line refers to the type of line that will show on the MRM diagram of allocation.

Supplementary Information is any additional Information that you want to appear on the SoR and MRM.
